Our team of volunteers aim to host an event monthly the 2nd Saturday of each month. Plus, during "Take to the Streets Tuesdays" a smaller group of us head out into the community to share politically censored information in various ways. Please join us this Tuesday, November 19th @ 11:00AM at the steps of the Alberta Legislative Building for a panel discussion regarding the issues surrounding Bill 24’s amendments to the Alberta Bill of Rights.
The language in the proposed amendments regarding “reasonable limits” mirrors section 1 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms which affords the Government of Alberta and government entities in Alberta too much latitude to violate rights and freedoms. On the surface the proposed amendments appear to bolster our current Alberta Bill of Rights, but the addition of “reasonable limits” makes it possible for the government to strip our most fundamental freedoms at their discretion.
Freedom is the most important aspect of our life as human beings on this planet, and it needs to be protected at any cost.
